EU Sino business trip report

EU Sino expands its connection in Europe

On February 25th, with the opening of the largest mobile telecommunication event Mobile World Congress (MWC), EU Sino kicked off its business trip in Europe. Over the next days we have been to Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Lyon, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Till March 12, the EU Sino management team participated in international expositions, round table events, and other activities to connect with European companies and partners.

We also took this opportunity to introduce our project, “InnoStation” to Europe for the first time.

InnoStation – Incubator for accelerators

Located in Suzhou High-Speed Rail New Town (HSR), InnoStation, this innovative ecosystem is created and managed by EU Sino. It is a non-profit organization with the conviction that global cooperation in a multicultural environment serves innovation the most. Our mission is to assist foreign scale-ups and SMEs to first land and then take off in China, by attracting international accelerators to expand the existing ecosystem.

InnoStation offers a western-designed co-working space in a modern office facility and provides special landing / relocation services: such as location selection assistance, HR management, legal hosting and more. This dynamic community is the ideal venue to also host your events.

From February 25th to 28th , EU Sino presented InnoStation at 4YFN_MWC in Barcelona and The Big Squeeze in Brussels as an exhibitor. The objective was it, to not only to get connected with European innovative platforms, but also to get in touch with more companies and help them to understand China’s market.

4YFN_MWC

With the  theme of “Intelligent Connectivity”, MWC19, the largest mobile event, attracted more than 109,000 visitors from 198 countries. 4 Years From Now (4YFN), as one of the most influential start-up event platforms at MWC, gathered more than 23,000 attendees.

EU Sino had the chance to connect to exhibitors and attendees from all across the world and discuss their investment interest in China. These companies are from different sectors with a wide scope of competences from hardware to software, implicated in a variety of sectors, such as autonomous driving, telecommunication and others.

The Big Squeeze

At the biggest Tech start-up event in Belgium, EU Sino explained InnoStation to accelerators, start-ups, scale-ups and investors from all across Europe. We are very pleased with the amount of interest and positive feedback we received. EU Sino has established a further partnership with them for upcoming projects in China.

Partnership development

Today, EU Sino is cooperating with Chambers of Commerce, European governmental organizations and other foreign companies for different activities such as: delegations, round tables and conferences.

EU Sino provides services to help foreign companies to grow quickly and smoothly in China by facilitating the entrance into the local market. We introduce them suppliers, potential partners and customers in our existing ecosystem.

In order to develop and to strengthen the partnership, EU Sino also attended networking events  on the topics of technology and innovation during the tour. We connected with different organizations and companies, such as French Tech Barcelona, KPMG and Station F and discussed a further collaboration on upcoming projects and activities in China.

Exchanging with companies as China expert

On March 5th, EU Sino General Manager Etienne Charlier had the opportunity to be interviewed by BFM Business. As the number one business news channel of France, BFM Business schedules different daily sessions about technology, economical topics and others. With 20 years of professional experience in China, Etienne was invited to share his view about the concerns and issues of international entrepreneurs when they enter the Chinese market. This interview will be aired in a few days. Follow our feed to find out more about it.

As we are experts of China, EU Sino also met with European companies that intend to expand in China. Our management team shared their experiences and provided insights on market trends in China and Suzhou, especially on new industrial applications, advanced technologies, autonomous driving and new materials – which are the three sectors most welcomed by the government of HSR.

High-Speed Rail New Town

Suzhou High-Speed Rail New Town (HSR) is located in the center of the Xiangcheng district, benefiting from an advanced network of public transportation – with high-speed rail links that reach Shanghai in 25 minutes, and Beijing in 4 hours. Moreover, the government has planned to establish the Yangtze River Delta International R&D Community. It currently already encompasses over 500 high-tech projects, 78 high-level talent teams and 28 innovation platforms on an area of only 10 km2.

As an assistant to the local government in facilitating the growth of more advanced industries, EU Sino has a unique skill-set and insights to bridge the gap between business and public policy. We have been keen on connecting to companies and discussing their objectives and challenges in their Chinese expansion plans.

Whats next?
